Typical Maine Winter Day

Just another typical winter day in Maine. Was out with my new D90 and thought this was a good setting to try some of the new features on the D90. One of the better things about shooting with the 18-105 lens on my D90 is the vibration reduction setting, its a great way to shoot in the snow. However sometimes taking it off is a good choice too. Never be afraid to turn off settings that make a shot supposedly "look" better. More after the break.

The vibration reduction setting on the D90 lens is pretty good though and usually I shoot with it on. But I thought today I'd go out and shoot without it turned on and see what happened. The below shot is one that I took this morning in the lovely snow storm (that still hasn't stopped yet).
