How many old fashioned photographers are mad right now watching the computer do all the work you spent years to learn how to do yourself? And why didn't she pick "unsharp mask" and choose how much to sharpen it herself?

Colour Variations can be found in Adobe Photoshop CS3 under Image > Adjustments > Variations... (Right at the bottom of Adjustments.
